Newsmaker Rules of Use

  • 1 Registration
  • When you register to use Newsmaker you will create your own user name and password. You must keep your password secret and must not share it with anyone.

    At the end of a session, be sure to sign out of your registered account.

  • 2 Uploading material
  • You will be able to upload your own material onto Newsmaker so that you can share it with pupils and teachers at your school (and, if you are a teacher, so that you can share it with pupils and teachers at other schools). When you are looking at material uploaded by other people, remember that we have not checked this material to make sure it is correct or suitable for Newsmaker.

  • 3 Restrictions
  • None of the material you upload should:

    • contain or link to any unlawful, threatening, abusive or indecent material or material which may upset pupils or teachers;
    • contain any material belonging to other people without their permission;
    • contain viruses or anything else which could harm Newsmaker or any equipment connected to it; or
    • impersonate anybody else.
  • 4 Licence
  • By uploading material onto Newsmaker you are allowing Guardian News & Media to display the material to pupils and teachers at your school (and, if you are a teacher, to pupils and teachers at other schools if you choose to share your project).

Please tell your teacher immediately if you see anything on Newsmaker which you do not think is allowed under these Rules of Use. We may remove from Newsmaker at any time any material which we reasonably believe is not allowed under these Rules of Use, or suspend access to Newsmaker of the person or school who has uploaded that material.
